Losing Amber - A Weight Loss Journal

I'm a 28 year old Mommy to two boys. I recently had my 2nd baby November 2006 and now I'm ready to battle the pounds and reach my goals. I plan to use this journal to post my successes and moans on the battle to a happier, healthy body.

Back at it again...

Well here I am almost a full year since posting last! So what has happened since then? Oh a whole lot that's for sure.

February 2006 my husband and I conceived our 2nd baby. My pregnancy went well and I gained the same amount as with my first (about 33 lbs). Finally November 20th, Jordan Willis made his way into the world, safe and healthy.

Jordan is now and month old and we are all adjusting well. His older brother Dylan just loves him, which I'm so happy about. Plus I'm managing to get some decent sleep. I figured for the first month with the holidays around the corner it would be smartest to just focus on healing vs. even worrying about trying to loose weight.

A few weeks ago, right before Christmas, and right around the time Jordan turned a month old I got seriously tired of wearing my maternity pants. It was actually dragging me down so I went out and bought a few pair in the meanwhile. I'm now a size 16 which I kinda expected and was happy about. I was a 16 after I had Dylan for a few months.

Right now I'm 179 and I'm ready and trying to get on track with a plan for weight loss. Mostly right now I want to just make a habit of exercise a few times a week and trying to eat healthier. I don't want to cut back severly just make better choices, especially with nursing. Also make a big point to get my water in daily.

I'm very serious about this weight loss. I finally became a stay at home Mom in August so now I don't have that excuse of working as to why I don't have time to exercise. Or that daily drive as to why I'm not as active (my previous work drive was 2 hrs a day). I feel like I owe it to myself but also to my husband (who I've fed these excuses to all these years) to loose this weight. So my thought is that if I don't see some sort of weight loss by the end of February...like at least to be at 170, I'm going to either hire a trainer for a few sessions or decide to join weight watchers, or hire a nutritionist. I think 2 full months is enough time to see 9 lbs gone.

On a good note while my eating wasn't the best I did do my first workout sessions this morning. I did the one mile Walk Away the Pounds video. Having not exercised in a long time it was harder than I thought it would be but that's good. Hopefully I can keep that up at least 3 x's a week to start out with.
