Been a Lil' Lazy

So I've really kinda slacked on the eating thing. I'm kinda on the fence about things. I know Atkins will work for me but I also don't feel quite right shunning certain fruits and veggies, grains. In the meanwhile I'm just trying to stay away from sugar but sometimes that doesn't work so well LOL.

I didn't join the gym. I worked out there 2 or 3 times and I realized that I would be rushing around so much on my lunch hour I would only have 10 min to eat. I'm a receptionist at the front desk, I can't be eating on a salad or sandwich when I have to constantly grab the phone. I really did like that gym though, maybe one day I will join.

I did buy something called Yourself Fitness, you can get it for playstation, or computer and it is just like a personal trainer. I was a little skeptical but it will kick your butt. You complete a fitness evaluation and this "woman" compiles a program for you. You tell her how long you have to work out, what equipment you have (weights, ball, step) and its a varied workout every time. Its also like a game, you can unlock areas to workout in, music. And after each segment she will ask how you felt. Like today lower body was my focus and I couldn't do the last 2 sets of lunges my legs were fatigued so I told her I couldn't keep up. So your Memory card for playstation keeps all this in mind for next time. Hey I figured this thing is getting me to exercise so its really not a bad thing. I've read on weight lifting boards that if you tell her its easy she will really kick your ass....even for a guy. My legs are so sore! But I love it.

Yanno I'll do so good and then cheat. I even knew I was going to last friday before I did it and I rationalized it all in my head. Oh its the end of my period and I haven't cheated...chicken chow mein (with the noodles) won't hurt. Then I had candy, then I had pizza that weekend LOL. I'm lucky I only went up to 157.

So yesterday I tried out the gym down the street. I did 25 min on the treadmill, not really working all that hard. I watched the body flow class which is like a yoga type thing. Pretty neat. I did tell Al mostly I would be there just for about a half an hour so I needed to maximize the weights while there. I think Wed. nights and Saturdays I'll do cardio and weights there. The rest of the week a 5-10 min warm up and then weights (on my lunch hour). Last night he had me do the Pec dec, hamstrings, triceps and abs which about killed me. The triceps I had never done that way before. He had me do 80 hip raises which about killed me LOL. I personally like to do more of an upper body/lower body type thing but I think because I'm a beginner and until he can feel out just what I can do they start off safe. It will be nice when I can get a set routine down and come in and do what I need to.

Stall

It sucks but I'm in the middle of a little stall as it seems. I go back and forth between 155 and 156. My period started Tuesday so I'm sure that is why. Better than seeing a gain from it right? Just drop one more lb. and I can say I lost 10 lbs...is that too much to ask??? LOL.

I bought some strawberries, finally on sale. I'm going to lay off the low carb ice cream, which gives me hellacious gas and use that as a sweet substitute. That is probably part of the problem. I do better than some with not eating so much low carb stuff but I still think I do a little too much.

Considering joining the gym 2 min from my work. Its full service, women only. The owner a guy showed me around. He was a little outgoing, a little touchy...like he got in my space when he was giving me an example about a crazy member there (she sounds bi-polar..asks about aliens, calls 9x's a day etc). BUT he was very nice, the price can't be beat for what all you get. I just want to sit down and figure out when and how long I would work out on what day to make it worth it. I have an hour lunch so I can do some things then but not too much as I don't want to get too sweaty and go back to work.
